10th August, 2007
Bellow are a great selection of photos from the Wing Chun training holiday that was the China/Hong Kong 2007 trip.
After arriving in Hong Kong we got to check into a great hotel with a superb view over the Ya Ma Tai district of Kowloon in Hong Kong.
That Night we got to train in the Ving Tsun Athletic Association, and then went for some food in the busy Mong Kok area of Kowloon.
The next day we settled into Hong Kong with some shopping and sight seeing
First we took the Star ferry across the river
Then the Tram up to Victoria peak
Master Kwok could not resist taking a pop at Bruce on the way up
But once at the top the view was breath taking
and we finished the day be doing a demonstration of Wing Chun at the Hong Kong University Wing Chun Societies Club.
The next day we traveled by coach to Foshan in mainland China where we went to the Ip Man Tong (museum)
Where we were greeted by a Lion dance and local press who landed us in the local Foshan newspaper the next day
We looked around the fantastic Ip Man museum
Filled with Wing Chun information
The Ip Man bronze statue
The new book and DVD series "Mastering Wing Chun"
Above Samuel Kwok and co author Tony Massengil show Ip Ching the final copy of "Mastering Wing Chun" which is supported by both Ip Chun and Ip Ching
We then met up with local Yiu Ka Wing Chun club to exchange ideas and demos about Wing Chun
The Yiu Kay Wing Chun school outside the Ip Man tong
Edmund Fongs Biu Gee demo outside the Ip Man Tong
We then visited a Choi Li Fut School and exchanged demos.

Later that night we ate out at a nice resturant and then visited the Palm Nam Wing Chun School
The next day we went back to the Ip Man Tong and looked around the Temple grounds and later had a Q&A seminar with Ip Ching

The Ip Ching Question and Answer seminar with Samuel Kwok
After the great seminar we spent another night in Foshan then took the coach to Macau
Where we booked in at a fancy hotel and then went out and looked around the many casinos
After spending one night in Macau we to the fast ferry back to Hong Kong where we spent the remaining 5 or 6 days
Our trip coincided with Hong Kongs Independence Day firework display
This event filled the streets of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island with spectators
The fire works were spectacular. But what else would you expect from the nation that invented them
After the fireworks we got to take in some great night time views
Including some seriosly tall sky scrapers
The Hong Kong night life is amazing
A Hong Kong harbour
Later that week we paid our respects to Ip Man at his grave. Ip Ching (Ip Mans youngest son) came with us for the ceremony<
We all paid our respects
Billiy Davidson performed a form in front of the Ip man grave by request of Samuel Kwok
After visiting Ip Mans grave we went to the local temple
The next training we did was at the VTAA with Ip Chun and some of his students
Samuel Kwok and Tony Massengil Showed Ip Chun the printed copy of the new book "Mastering Wing Chun"
after that the agenda took us sightseeing to Lantau Island and the worlds largest outdoor Buddha
we traveled via fast ferry again
the fast freey made some people feel a little ill!
But the spectacular monastery on Lantau was well worth it
The Buddha was further away than he looked - something those who decided to race up the steps realized
Once again we had an amazing view, this time from the top of the Buddha statue.
Back in Hong Kong we did more training at the VTAA
We also visited Ip Mans house which now belongs to his son Ip Ching. Ip Ching did some more question and answers about Wing Chun and Ip Man
Samuel Kwok translated the questions and answers
Sifu demonstrated on the Dummy
The next night we celebrated Ip Chun's 83rd birthday at a fantastic vegetarian restaurant which served some really interesting food
Below is his birthday cake
On the our last full day in Hong Kong we had a great Chi Sao seminar with Samuel Kwok in Kings Park in the Ya Ma Tai district of Kowloon. There will be a video and photos available shortly.
If anyone has any more photos or info they would like to add please contact me or Sifu Kwok to have them put on the website.
